The Norton Antivirus plug-in for Microsoft Office scans documents for macro virus infections in Office products.
You may face some performance issues like:
- Unable to open some files within office etc.
- Unable to install some office applications.
- Get some error message.
To resolve the above errors, you need to follow these methods.
Method 1. Get the latest update:
Check the latest version of Norton Antivirus software, & obtain that if available.
Note: If method 1 doesn’t work, (If you can not update Norton antivirus software through Live update) then follow method 2.
Method 2. Disable Norton Antivirus Office Plug-in:
Disabling Norton antivirus may be risky. Because after disabling antivirus, it will not scan any documents of Microsoft office setup – excel sheets, word documents, power-point presentations etc.
It becomes more vulnerable to attack by malicious users or viruses after disabling antivirus from computer.
Start Norton AntiVirus. To do this, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Norton AntiVirus, and then click Norton AntiVirus 2001.
Note If you installed Norton AntiVirus as part of the Norton SystemWorks 2002 program, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Norton SystemWorks, point to Norton AntiVirus, and then click Norton AntiVirus 2002.
Click Options, and then click General.
Under How to keep Microsoft Office documents protected, click to clear the Enable Office Plug-in check box, and then click OK.
Restart the computer.
