The Norton AntiVirus plug-in for Microsoft Office scans documents for macro virus infections in Office products.
You may face some performance issues like
- Unable to open some files within office etc.
- Unable to install some Microsoft office applications.
- Get some error message.
To resolve the above errors, you need to follow these methods.
Method 1. Get the Latest Update:
Check the latest version of Norton Antivirus software, & obtain that if available.
Note: If method 1 doesn’t work, (If you can not update Norton antivirus software through Live update) then follow method 2.
Method 2. Disable Norton Antivirus Office Plug-in:
This is a little risky method, because it makes the network vulnerable to attack by malicious users or viruses.
You should use this process only if you really require this process.
Norton Antivirus Program is designed to protect your computer from viruses. Don’t download any file from untrusted sources.
After Disabling the Norton antivirus Office plug-in. It does not scan document.
If you have Installed Norton Antivirus 2006
On the task-bar, right-click the Norton icon, and then click Norton Antivirus Options.
Click to clear the Turn Office Plug-in on check box.
If you have installed Norton Antivirus 2004/2003/2002, Norton System Works 2004/2003/2002:
Start Norton Antivirus. To do this, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Norton Antivirus, and then click Norton Antivirus 2002.
Note: If you installed Norton AntiVirus as part of the Norton System Works 2002 program,
Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Norton System Works, point to Norton AntiVirus, and then click Norton AntiVirus 2002.
Note In Norton System Works 2002, click Options, and then click Norton Antivirus.
Under Other, click Miscellaneous.
Under How to keep Microsoft Office documents protected, click to clear the Enable Office Plug-in check box, and then click OK.
Restart the computer.
